Haus - Must-see attractions
Großsölk Castle
The Großsölk Castle, built in the 14th century in Styria, looks back on a long tradition and strategically important function for the former trade routes over the Sölk Pass. In the courtyard of the house, you can admire the Jesuit garden, recognized as a teaching and show garden. Numerous hiking trails begin around the castle, ranging from short, family-friendly tours under 5 km in length to difficult routes including via ferratas. One of the classics is the 14 km long "5-Hut Trail" starting in Ramsau.
Riesach Waterfalls
The Riesach Waterfalls in Austria are part of the themed hiking trail Wild Water and captivate with their two cascading levels into the Hell Gorge. This natural wonder is fed by the Riesachbach and begins to plunge down from the Riesachsee at an altitude of 1,338 meters. You can start your hike to the Riesach Waterfalls at the Gasthaus Riesachfall, which is located right at the lower end. After about ten minutes, you reach the small Riesachfall and after half an hour, the larger counterpart.
Styrian Lake Constance
There are many hiking opportunities around the Styrian Bodensee. For families, the approximately 3 km long circular trail is recommended. Since it runs on flat terrain, it is also suitable for smaller children. The tour to the romantic waterfall trail is longer. Near the Styrian Bodensee, there are numerous places to stop for refreshments. You can try fresh fish, Styrian delicacies, Schladminger beer, and more. A rowing trip across the lake is fun. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed in the natural body of water.
Ignaz-Mattis-Hut
The Ignaz-Matthis-Hütte is a true paradise for active vacationers and families. With its picturesque location at the Lower Giglachsee and at the foot of majestic peaks, the refuge offers hikers and nature lovers an unforgettable getaway in the Austrian Alps. From here, you can explore the diverse hiking trails of the Schladminger Tauern and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding mountain world. While you savor delicious regional specialties at the hut, your children can discover alpine animal and plant species around the house.
Hauser Kaibling
The Hauser Kaibling is 2,015 meters high, making it the highest mountain of the 4-mountain ski swing. It also includes the Reiteralm, the Planai, and the Hochwurzen. Look forward to 123 varied kilometers of slopes in all levels of difficulty and rustic ski huts. In summer, the Schafsinn Pond offers educational experiences. Everything revolves around the animals grazing by the pond. Precision is required in Downhill Disc Golf. On the way from the Quattralpina mountain station to the 8-seater gondola, you need to hit target baskets.
Schladming ski area
The 4-mountain ski swing connects the dreamlike slopes in the Schladming ski area. You can travel from the Reiteralm to the Hochwurzen and use the runs at Hauser Kaibling and on the Planai. A total of 230 kilometers of slopes are available for beginners and experts. If you love adventure, you are in the right place on the six funslopes in the Schladming ski area and in the Crosspark on the Reiteralm. The smallest winter sports enthusiasts will find a lovingly designed children's paradise at the Funruns Galsterberg. A special experience is night skiing on the Hochwurzen.
