Krimml Waterfall

The Krimml Waterfalls were formed during the Ice Age. They cascade down a height of 380 meters in three stages. Approximately 5.6 cubic meters of water roar into the valley every second. This natural wonder is fed by the Krimmler Ache. The glacial stream flows through 20 alpine pastures before reaching the waterfall at the valley's exit. The most beautiful viewpoints can be reached via the Krimml Waterfall Trail. From the parking lot, it is only a 15-minute walk to reach the first cascade. A serpentine path leads up into the Krimml Achental. On the 4 km long path, you overcome an elevation of 431 meters.

Stubai Glacier

Even the promising ride with the gondola to 2,000 m is an experience. After a short hike, you reach the Top of Tyrol viewing platform. In clear weather, 109 peaks over 3,000 meters can be seen. Families love the high-altitude mammoth playground, which revolves around the giants of prehistoric times. The ice grotto offers a cool down. From October to May, the ski area on the Stubai Glacier is open. There are 35 slopes ranging from easy to challenging to choose from. The climate you can expect in Tyrol depends on the holiday region: Due to the high alpine location of many places, Tyrol, with an average temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, is one of the coolest federal states in Austria. July is the friendliest month with eight hours of sunshine per day. In August, 14 rainy days are to be expected, with the least precipitation occurring in November. The most snow falls in January. For example, at the Nordkette near Innsbruck, it is 85 cm. With maximum values around 0 degrees Celsius, it is coldest in December and January.
