When the sun shines on the white lake chalk at the bottom of the waters, they glow in unique shades of blue through reflection. This makes them popular and contrasting photo subjects.

Kornati National Park

Kornati National Park

The famous writer Bernard Shaw once described the Kornati as a divine creation formed from tears, stars, and the breath of the sea. On the larger islands, you will find perfect conditions for hiking. The view over the natural paradise is particularly beautiful from the 237-meter-high island of Metlina. You also have a wonderful view of the surroundings from the remains of the Tureta fortress from the 6th century on the island of Kornat.
