Ménez Ham Beach
The Plage de Ménez Ham is located in the small community of Meneham in Finistere. The magnificent natural beach in the midst of the legendary Brittany is a must-see for the whole family. With its bright sand and partly turquoise blue water, it exudes a Caribbean flair. The sandy beach is also ideal for water sports. All around you will find grassy dunes and bizarre boulders, which are typical for the region. Around Meneham, you will also find wonderful hiking opportunities and Breton cultural heritage.
Meneham Village
Surrounded by mighty granite rocks, Meneham is located directly by the sea. Until the 1950s, seaweed and coastal fishermen worked here. Today, earth ovens and farmhouses still bear witness to this. Picture boards tell exciting details of the Bretons' sparse life. In some of the thatched houses, artisans work today. A bread oven is also in operation, allowing you to enjoy fresh bread during your stay in Meneham. The museum village is an ideal starting point for hikes along the dramatic rocky coast.
Lighthouse of Pontusval
The lighthouse of Pontusval was built in 1860 and is 14.5 meters high. Inside, a staircase with 52 steps leads to the top. With the attached cottage, the whitewashed lighthouse looks like a small church. The surroundings are remarkable: In the light of the rising sun, the sky and rocks are bathed in a gentle pink light. Beautiful panoramas are offered to you from the beaches Plage du Phare and Plage de Porspol.
Bay of Goulven
Anyone who comes to the Goulven Bay can look forward to more than 20,000 birds. These include ducks, geese, sandpipers, lapwings, and snipes. Several hiking trails run through the area. It is best to visit the bay in spring and autumn. During a visit to the Goulven Bay, you will not only see birds but also impressive dunes and picturesque beaches. The hiking trail starts at a parking lot in the southeast. From here, you can also reach the Étang du Pont lagoon.
Chapel of Saint Margaret
The age of the Sainte-Marguerite Church is immediately apparent. Built from massive field and natural stones, it appears somewhat gloomy and rustic. The distinctive stone cross and the small church tower on the gable also fit the region in western France. The chapel is located further inland and can be reached from the coastal towns by car or bike. Several roads bring you close to the medieval house of worship, where you can admire many historical artifacts at the altar.
Kerurus Beach
Plage de Kerurus is located in the small French commune of Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages in the Finistère department in France. In addition to its paradisiacal flair, it features wild rocks typical of the Brittany coast. The beach slopes gently and smoothly into the water, making it very popular with families with children. Within less than a 5-minute walk, there is a restaurant, a café, and parking spaces.

Excursion to the Chapel of Saint-Pierre in Saint-Pol-de-Léon
West of Kerlouan, you will find a place of tranquility in the Saint-Pierre Chapel in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, built from gray natural stone. During service times, you have the opportunity to admire the statues inside. From the outside, the early 15th-century building impresses with its simple curved facade and massive bell tower.
Enjoy the natural wonder Les Dunes de Keremma
Near Kerlouan, you will discover the dunes of Keremma, a coastal nature reserve with charming vegetation. Here, the wild rugged Breton coast reveals itself at its most beautiful. Impressive Menhir of Men Marz
You can reach the pagan Menhir de Men Marz, located 5 km away, on foot from Kerlouan. The slender stone pillar, over 8 meters high, rises in the village of Plounéour-Brignogan-plages on a meadow next to flat stone formations. The cross at the top indicates a Christian consecration of the monument, which is popular with newlyweds.
Ancient relic: Pont du Diable in Plouguerneau
The L’Aber Vrac’h, a shallow river with a rapid current, flows through the town of Plouguerneau, located about 15 km from Kerlouan. Since the 5th century BC, the stone dam Pont du Diable (Devil's Bridge) served as a river crossing. Today, it only emerges from the waters at low tide. The picturesque view is worth it.

Day 1
On the Breton Atlantic coast in Finistère, you spend your vacation in Kerlouan. The highlight is the long beach that stretches about 7 km along the Atlantic coast. It is the highlight of the small community and is definitely at the top of the exploration list on the first day of vacation. Expansive sandy beach bays characterize the beach, which delight with their natural charm. Here, everyone finds a quiet spot for summer sunbathing and building sandcastles. The grass-covered dunes with walking paths above the coast invite you to beach walks in the fresh Atlantic breeze during the cooler months. Afterwards, a stroll through the town center of Kerlouan, located about 2 km inland, beckons. The neo-Gothic Eglise Saint Brevalaire from the mid-19th century, with its 47 m high bell tower, visibly points the way from afar. End the day in one of the restaurants in the cozy town center with French cuisine.
Day 2
Numerous small villages are part of the municipality of Kerlouan. Use the second day of your vacation for a trip to the particularly beautiful village of Meneham, which is located directly behind the coast. Thatched fishermen's houses are hidden in the dunes. The highlight among the romantic photo motifs is the old customs officer's house from the 17th century, which was built as if wedged between two massive boulders. Speaking of rocks: these can be found repeatedly along the entire coast of Kerlouan. They are popular with climbing enthusiasts. Anyone who wants to try bouldering in the great outdoors is definitely in the right place here and will find both easy rocks for the first climbing attempts of the little ones and more challenging climbing opportunities for the experienced. End the vacation day with a relaxing walk on the beach. Here on the northwest-facing Atlantic, you can enjoy the natural spectacle of the slowly setting sun over the sea.
Day 3
On the third day, start with an exploration tour through Kerlouan and discover the many small villages. The flat paths through the rural surroundings behind the coast are particularly suitable for bicycle explorations. A detour to the sea with a break in a beach bay is always possible due to the short distance. Those traveling in the villages of the Kerlouan municipality and around the community will repeatedly encounter small chapels as well as some impressive menhirs like the Menhir of Kervizouarn. These are prehistoric stones that impress with their size and fascinating, towering presence. Another charming destination around your holiday resort is the Étang du Pont. This small lake is located about 3 km from the center of Kerlouan inland and is a nice stopover for a picnic in the green with the whole family.
