Fenouillet Trail
The wildlife park delights with completely untouched nature, through which only a few hiking trails lead. Walk along these paths by the coast and discover the native animal species. Turtles, cicadas, and lizards, for example, call this place home. Follow the signposted routes through the Sentier du Fenouillet and pass palms, eucalyptus, and tamarisks on your way to one of the dream beaches. The Bay of Bonparteu in the wildlife park is considered a true paradise.
Cavalaire Harbor
The port Herakleia, the official name, is the docking place for several smaller yachts and private boats. Additionally, some larger sailing ships dock here, with which excursions across the Mediterranean to Cannes or Monaco are even possible. Right at the Port de Cavalaire-sur-Mer, some high-class restaurants promise delicacies from French cuisine, with fish dishes being particularly popular. In the summer months, visits to the beach at Plage du Centre-ville or Plage de Amphores are recommended.
Bonporteau Beach
Located south of Saint-Tropez, Plage de Bonporteau is considered quiet and family-friendly. Here you can relax and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere. Within walking distance, you can reach several cafes, bistros, and bars. During the summer months between May and September, vacationers can look forward to temperatures well above 25°C, and the turquoise blue Mediterranean promises a refreshing cool down. Snorkel along the coast and discover the diverse underwater world.
Downtown Beach
Located between Toulon and Cannes, the Plage du Centre-Ville is considered informal and family-friendly. In the summer months, it is well-visited, and vacationers can also look forward to a variety of different sports activities. Let your soul unwind while sunbathing, build spectacular sandcastles, or try water skiing and jet skiing. On-site, paddle boats and pedal boats can also be rented, allowing you to explore the coastal landscape on your own.
The Verne Dam
Built in 1991, the Le Barrage de la Verne supplies the region around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez with refreshing drinking water and serves as a popular local recreation area for hiking with its surrounding mountain and hill landscape, dense forests, and moist meadows. Eight kilometers east of the dam lies the small village of Cogolin. The cultural heritage of the place as well as the creative craftsmanship will delight you. In the south, the beautiful sandy beaches invite you to swim on the Côte d'Azur in the summer.
Trip to Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez is about half an hour by car from Cavalaire-sur-Mer. And the mythical seaside resort is also accessible by boat. Once there, you should take a walk at the legendary harbor and enjoy the excellent view from the citadel. Saint-Tropez is one of the most famous seaside resorts in the world - a fact that the charming harbor town with its glamorous flair owes to the film legend Brigitte Bardot.

Fenouillet Trail
The Sentier du Fenouillet in Cavalaire-sur-Mer offers a wonderful opportunity to explore nature in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The path is about 4.55 km long and has an elevation difference of 119 meters. The tour starts at Chemin de Bonporteau in Cavalaire and leads to Maison Foncin. Along the way, you can enjoy numerous breathtaking views of the Golden Islands.
Excursion to Bonporteau Bay
Just over one km west of Cavalaire-sur-Mer, you can spend a dreamy beach day in the Bay of Bonporteau. Framed by wooded cliffs, a fine sandy stretch extends. The calm sea is crystal clear and invites you to swim and snorkel. A highlight is the underwater diving trail. Colorful buoys with information mark the stations.

The underwater trail at Plage de Bonporteau is one of the attractions around Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Under expert guidance, you will discover the buoy-marked path on the seabed of the protected marine area in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. You bring your own diving masks, fins, snorkels, towels, and possibly a wetsuit. You do not need to reserve participation in advance.
Mont-Jean Oppidum
The Oppidum Montjean is an archaeological site of historical significance. It was built by the Ligurians between the 6th and 4th centuries BC. It is a testament to early settlement and cultural development in this region. The Oppidum Montjean offers a unique view over the Bay of Cavalaire, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, and the Massif des Maures.

Day 1
Directly on the Côte d'Azur, the charming town of Cavalaire-sur-Mer welcomes you, home to nearly 7,500 people. The community is a popular holiday destination and attracts travelers from all over the world, especially in the warm season. The highlight is the approximately 3-kilometer-long sandy beach, framed on both sides by massive rocks. Between April and October, the temperatures are high enough for you to swim in the Mediterranean and sunbathe on the coast. Within walking distance, numerous cafés and restaurants invite you to take a break. In the mild season between November and March, long walks on the beach and through the charming harbor are recommended. Stroll along the promenade or head south to the quieter beach sections. Here, especially Plage de Bonporteau and Plage des Amphores are very popular with the locals.
Day 2
For the second day in Cavalaire-sur-Mer, a sporty excursion is recommended. You have numerous interesting destinations to choose from, whether by hiking or road cycling. In the warm season, several water sports are particularly popular. Diving and sailing, as well as stand-up paddling, are especially favored here. If you have brought your bicycle or rent one locally, a trip up to Col du Canadel is worthwhile. You will ride through the picturesque landscapes along the Provençal coast and be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Côte d'Azur. Year-round, the varied hikes through the untouched nature inland are highly recommended. A hidden gem is the route from Cavalaire-sur-Mer to the Saint-Rouche Mill. The Moulin du Roch was built in the 16th century and has remained in its original condition to this day.
Day 3
With a car, even more distant destinations can be quickly reached. For the third day in Cavalaire-sur-Mer, tours to Marseille or Toulon in the west and Cannes, Nice, or Monaco in the east are possible. For the 60 kilometers to Toulon, you only need a good hour. On site, the capital of the Var department offers you numerous impressive sights. It is best to plan several hours for the city tour and start your walk at the central Place de la Liberté, which is considered the heart of Toulon. From here, you can walk to the imposing opera house or the naval museum, visit the Rade de Toulon viewing platform, or discover the impressive Cathedral of Notre Dame de la Seds. Take your time and sit in a café or restaurant in the old town and admire the decorated facades, the historic alleys, and much more.
