Castle of Grimaud
The castle of Grimaud, built in the 11th century, served for several centuries as a defense against the Saracens. During the French Revolution, it fell into decay. Only a part of the former castle has survived to our time. Of the three ring walls, two remain, and several arrow slits have been restored. The castle ruins are particularly impressive at night when illuminated by floodlights. In summer, concerts and open-air performances are regularly held here.
Beach of Port Grimaud
At the end of Avenue de la Mer near the marina, Plage de Port Grimaud is a magnet for swimming and water sports enthusiasts. From sailing to parasailing to jet skiing, there is no water sport you can't pursue here. Families with young children particularly appreciate the beach, as its shore gently slopes into the Mediterranean and children can engage with the available games. Church of Saint Michael
The Church of Saint-Michel impresses with its charming fusion of Romanesque simplicity and Provençal self-confidence. The use of valuable building materials such as granite and limestone testifies to the prosperity of the village of Grimaud. The first parish was established here as early as the 10th century. Because the famous church needed more space after multiple expansions, the surrounding cemetery was promptly relocated in the 19th century. Spacious vaults present you with ancient frescoes and a new organ from the famous organ workshop Pasqual Quoirin.

Today, the beautiful route attracts numerous vacationers. A hike along the coast is worth a detour to Grimaud. The town towers over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez at the foot of the Maures Massif and is dominated by a castle ruin. Just before Sainte-Maxime, Plage Les Cigales invites you to linger and sunbathe.
