Morbihan - The most beautiful cities

Carnac

But in Carnac, there are not only menhirs and dolmens, prehistoric stone graves. The south coast of Brittany is also popular among vacationers because of its mild climate and beautiful beaches. After visiting the stone giants, set off to explore the area. There are five beaches in Carnac, lined with pine forests. This includes the Grande Plage with its chic marina. The Renaissance church in the center of Carnac, dedicated to Saint Cornély, is not from prehistoric times at all. Those seeking an adrenaline rush will find it in the Forêt Adrénaline adventure park.

A highlight is the 110 m long cathedral, which is one of the largest sacred buildings in Brittany. La Roche Bernard

There are two reasons why La Roche-Bernard developed into a prosperous town. On one hand, the shipyard ensured busy traffic in the harbor. Additionally, the French town went down in history for its flourishing salt trade. You can gain an exciting insight at the Musée de la Vilaine maritime. The best view of the town can be enjoyed from the Morbihan Bridge, which spans the Vilaine River at a height of 40 meters. A path leads the water to the Arzal Dam. A walk through the old town, characterized by alleys with steps, is also worthwhile.

Morbihan - Climate

The climate in Morbihan is very maritime, offering warm but not too hot summers and mild winters. This means an average temperature of 25 degrees in summer and 5 degrees in winter. The best travel time – also for hiking – is in summer from June to September. This is not only due to the good swimming temperatures but also to the comparatively low rainfall. Rainfall noticeably increases from October and only decreases again in spring from March or April. Autumn and especially winter are characterized by a lot of rain and wild storms.

The following graph shows the average weather conditions for the country. Historical weather conditions may vary by region.
