Balatonmariafurdo - Must-see attractions
Water tower of Siófok
The 45-meter high water tower Sifok is visible from afar. You can easily reach the rotating tower basket by elevator. The view over Lake Balaton and the city of Sifok through the large glass fronts is unique. Take a seat on comfortable chairs on the glazed observation deck, which rotates 360 degrees. In the Szentkirályi Oxygen, there are cocktails, coffee, cakes, and many other delicacies. The tourist information is also housed in the tower.
Beach of Siófok
Several kilometers stretch the Siófok Beach along Lake Balaton. With its golden-yellow sand, the gently sloping, 8-hectare beach is especially popular with families who want to let their children splash in the water. In the summer months, numerous open-air events take place on the beach. Its well-known nightclubs have earned Siófok the reputation of being the party capital of Lake Balaton. Along the beach promenade, there are restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlors, and water sports opportunities, everything you need for a successful beach day.
Jókai Park
The 4.6-hectare Jókai Park was built in 2006 according to original plans. Previously, a racetrack was located in its place. Visitors often first notice the abundance of flowers, as Siófok won the "Flowered Hungary" competition in 1996 for good reason. The park's attention to detail is demonstrated by the tranquil Japanese garden, which exudes an oriental touch with stones and small temples. Families like to have a picnic by the idyllic pond in Jókai Park.
Marina of Siófok
At the western edge of the Nagystrand in Siófok is the huge marina. It juts into the land like a rectangular block. Various providers take you from here on a cruise on the magnificent Balaton. At the marina of Siófok, you can watch the ships entering and leaving at the pier. Additionally, some restaurants here entice with typical Hungarian country cuisine. Highlights include the Molo-Bar for drinks at sunset.
Galerius Wellness Bath
The 800 m² adventure pool Galerius consists of six pools. In the children's pool, the youngest ones can enjoy a fun slide and splash devices. There is also a larger slide for older children and a 16 m long sports pool. A stay in the whirlpool is relaxing. In the sauna world, saunas with different temperatures are available. The salt cave and the sea air cabin allow you to breathe freely. You can relax with all your senses in the light and aromatherapy sauna. The competent staff of the spa pamper you with massages.
Evangelical Church of Siófok
The famous Hungarian architect Imre Makovecz designed the Evangelical Church in Siófok. It looks like an upside-down wooden ship. The building material was a gift from the city of Oulu in Finland, Siófok's partner community. In gratitude for the wood delivery, the northern gate of the Evangelical Church was named "Suomi." The church pays homage to the traditional craft of woodworking. The natural material gives the interior a very special atmosphere. The cross at the top of the tower is striking.
