Garda - Must-see attractions

Garda Old Town

Stroll leisurely along the charming lakeside promenade into the old town with its narrow alleys and marvel at the venerable facades. Elegant villas like the Albertini Villa or the Villa Canossa from the 16th and 18th centuries line your path. In the small harbor, the magnificent Palazzo dei Capitani from the Venetian era attracts admiring glances. In the center of the old town rises the Church of St. Stephen from the 17th century. Among the region's oldest churches is the Santa Maria Maggiore, built in 1117.

Lake Garda Museum

In the Lake Garda Museum, visitors learn not only about the flora and fauna of the region but also about its long history. Marvel at historical boats, various exhibitions, and learn more about the ancient past of the region. The museum is located in the heart of the town of Garda, from where you can embark on exciting excursions to explore other landmarks in the area. A visit to the Museo dell’Olio, where you can learn more about olive oil, is also recommended.

San Vigilio Point

Stroll along the coast on a leisurely walk over the headland and take a look at some of the imposing and historic villas. Especially the Villa Brenzone is considered a landmark and was once the holiday destination of European nobility. On Punta San Vigilio, you will find picturesque cypress avenues, the Locanda San Vigilio right on the lakeshore, and breathtaking views over Lake Garda. In the warm summer months, you will find a variety of swimming opportunities here to cool off while swimming.

Pincini Carlotti Palace

Built in modern times, the Palazzo Pincini Carlotti impresses with its five-arched loggia, considered a landmark. Marvel at the Renaissance architecture, shaped by the Veronese architect Michele Sanmicheli and largely preserved in its original form to this day. The palace once housed the customs office of the Garda municipality. In the immediate vicinity, you will find numerous shopping opportunities as well as other historical buildings. It is just 50 meters until you reach the shore of Lake Garda.

Pincherle Lakeside

Golden yellow beach characterizes the Lungolago Pincherle in the Italian Garda. The lakeside path offers views of the boats in the harbor, across the blue of the lake to Bardolino and Lazise. Those who wish can enjoy the view from one of the beach bars. In addition to a section with a paved promenade, there are also unpaved paths belonging to the Lungolago Pincherle, which delight romantics with their fringe of reeds. Dogs can walk along the lakeside path, off-season even without a leash.

Garda Fortress

The beautiful rock Rocca di Garda is located between the two towns of Garda and Bardolino on Lake Garda in northern Italy. The densely vegetated green hill has a beautiful meadow at its top, which serves as a picnic spot with a magnificent view. The picturesque hill can be reached with a short walk from both Garda and Bardolino. However, the ascent from Bardolino is considered much easier and passes by beautiful olive groves and forests.
