Poland - 8 special beaches
Sopot Beach
The turquoise Baltic Sea and the fine sand of the beach of Sopot, combined with the summer temperatures in July, August, and September, provide the perfect conditions for sunbathing, swimming, and relaxing. Swim in the clear, warm waters of the Baltic Sea or try stand-up paddling and other water sports. Along the promenade, you will find several cafes and restaurants that invite you to linger. During the transitional seasons, walks along the coast are very popular. Whether by car, bicycle, or public transport, you can quickly reach Gdynia in the north or Gdansk in the south.
Świnoujście Beach
At the main beach of Swinemünde, with many beach bars right behind the coast and along the promenade, there is always something happening during the summer season. Sunbathing, beach volleyball, or a dip in the sea: it never gets boring. The lively city center is also just a short walk from the beach. Long and sandy, the beach of Swinemünde invites you to take beach walks. Wide dune landscapes line the beach sections located away from the main beach and offer a natural idyll in direct proximity to the bustling activity. Those who wish can easily cross the beach border on foot towards the seaside resort of Ahlbeck on the German island side.
Międzyzdroje Beach
The expansive sandy beach is surrounded by the Baltic Sea and a dense forest, offering peace and relaxation. In midsummer, the deep blue sea invites you to swim and cool off, with the water being relatively shallow, making it ideal for children to splash around under parental supervision. Both the beach and the adjacent forest are perfect for longer walks. In the transitional seasons and winter, you can enjoy a refreshing sea breeze and have opportunities for numerous outdoor activities nearby. Excursions to nearby Swinoujscie or the big city of Szczecin are recommended.
Jurata Beach
Even in the warmest summer months, the picture-perfect beach is still considered an insider tip and is accordingly little visited. Let your soul dangle here or cool off by swimming in the deep blue waters of the Baltic Sea. Visually, the landscape with its shallow water and white beach is reminiscent of the Caribbean. In the transitional seasons or even at the turn of the year, extended walks in the fresh sea breeze are recommended, with the Baltic Sea even partially freezing over in winter. Not far from the coast, you will find some cafes, restaurants, and shopping opportunities in the community of Jurata. By car, you can quickly reach the mainland from the peninsula.
Łeba Beach
The center of Łeba is located near the beach behind a dense coastal forest strip. The beach itself scores with its magnificent naturalness, far from the traffic and hustle and bustle of the lively resort. Whether it's summer bathing fun or long beach walks in the stiff breeze during the winter months, the beach of Łeba is worth a visit at any time of the year. By the way, in Łeba, you can expect pure sand not only directly on the Baltic Sea coast. With the moving dunes of Łeba, a vast dune landscape stretches behind the coast to the west near the resort. This "Sahara of Pomerania" features dunes towering over 40 meters high, which you can best discover on a hiking excursion.
Kołobrzeg Beach
Your destination has a long tradition: it has been called a seaside resort since the 19th century. The fine sandy beach stretches over 11 km, attracting those seeking peace, athletes, and families. If you are traveling with your four-legged friend, you can splash around at the dog beach between Grzybowo and Dzwirzyno. The main beach is flanked by the impressive lighthouse, which is a landmark of the city. In summer, this coastal section is supervised, and several bistros ensure culinary well-being. You can also rent deck chairs and beach baskets here. Near Dzwirzyno, there is a nudist beach for fans of nude bathing.
Ustka Beach
Allegedly, as early as 1879, 350 bathers were guests in Stolpmünde, as Utska is called in German. Today, the spa town with its wide sandy beach is a popular holiday destination for families and those seeking tranquility. You reach the gently sloping shore through a dune landscape and a beautiful coastal forest. Due to the ideal wind conditions, Utska's beach is popular with water sports enthusiasts. Sailors enjoy it here just as much as kitesurfers, who prefer to meet at the western part of the beach. The best time for a beach holiday is July and August, with water temperatures around 19 degrees Celsius.
Mielno Beach
For more than a century, Mielno has been one of the popular seaside resorts in Poland. In the summer months, you can look forward to many hours of sunshine and temperatures well above 20°C. Accordingly, the conditions are perfect for sunbathing and swimming, as well as for a variety of water sports. Along the elegant beach promenade, numerous cafés invite you to relax with coffee, cake, and a view of the Baltic Sea. The historic center of Mielno enchants you with a special charm. Stroll through the narrow streets and visit the numerous half-timbered houses, all of which have been elaborately restored.
