Beach of Arenal
With a length of 5 km, Playa del Arenal is the longest coastal stretch on the sunny Costa Daurada. The golden-yellow sandy beach with crystal-clear sea is located near the marina. In the northern part, you will find a family-friendly city beach with numerous water sports activities and beach bars. The southern part of Playa del Arenal is a natural beach, traversed by a path. With its gently rolling dunes with Mediterranean plants, a wetland with reeds, and a shady Aleppo pine forest, this part of the beach is well-suited for walks.
Ebro Delta Natural Park
The Delta de l'Ebre Natural Park is located on the Costa Daurada near L'ampolla in Spain. On 7,736 hectares, there are about 343 different bird species. You will also find over 800 different plant species, including flamingos and eucalyptus trees. Some of the most beautiful places include the large Tancada Lagoon and the La Marquesa beach, which fits wonderfully into the beautiful Punta del Fangar peninsula. This area enchants you with its dunes and the pretty lighthouse.
Marina l'Ampolla
The Esportiu l’Ampolla harbor is located in the clear Mediterranean waters at the top of the Gulf of Sant Jordi. The harbor area is surrounded by small cafés, restaurants, and shops offering local specialties and maritime souvenirs. Regular events and sailing competitions enrich the offerings. Boat trips depart from the harbor along the picturesque coast with its gentle hills and rock formations to breathtaking coves and hidden beaches. There you can refresh yourself in the water or explore the colorful underwater world while snorkeling.
Viewpoint L'Ampolla
The viewpoint Mirador l’Ampolla is located above the marina and a few minutes' walk from Platja de les Avellanes. From here, you can see the Ebro Delta and the Fangar lighthouse on a promontory. The Mirador l’Ampolla consists of a concrete platform from which visitors can look out over the sea. Many come here with snacks from the nearby shops. Especially in the evening hours, it is a popular meeting place among locals.
Ecoherbes Park Botanical Garden
The Ecoherbes Park and its botanical garden is about 2 hectares in size and delights with a balanced mix of herb plants, pines, olive trees, and other vegetation. The facility is located in the east of Spain and in close proximity to the Ebro Delta. Since 2015, the Ecoherbes Park in l’Ampolla on the Costa Daurada has invited visitors to an exciting tour through the nature of Spain. Here, you wander through fragrant medicinal plants and herb beds, whose products are used for regionally typical dishes.
Peniscola Castle
Peniscola is located on the Costa Daurada in Catalonia, Spain. In addition to the impressive Templar castle, which was completed in 1307, the building at L'Ampolla also offers a picturesque old town. Both rise on a rock 64 meters directly above the sea. The well-preserved castle allows fascinating insights into the stables, a parade ground, a large entrance hall, and the papal chambers. It also holds secrets of the Templar order. Along with Mediterranean flair, its fortress walls offer a magnificent view of the sea.
