Gran Canaria - Climate

The sun smiles down from the sky on Gran Canaria for around 300 days a year. The climate is subtropical, with the north being somewhat cooler than the south. This is due to the 2,000-meter-high mountain range that serves as a weather divide. Generally, most precipitation falls from November to February, with rain occurring on seven to eight days per month. Since temperatures can rise to just over 20°C even in winter, Gran Canaria is an ideal year-round destination. The water temperature is highest from July to September, at 22 to 23°C.
