Tenerife is a great travel destination all year round. Generally, the north is somewhat cooler and wetter than the south. The weather differences are caused by the trade wind. In summer, the desert wind from the Sahara drives temperatures up to over 30°C during the day. At night, it cools down to around 22°C. Between March and October, the sun shines from the sky for eight to eleven hours. From December to February, temperatures are still around 20°C. The water of the Atlantic is warmest from August to October, with an average of 22 to 23°C.
