Primeval Forest Trail

Primeval forests are becoming increasingly rare in Europe. Tyresta is also the largest of its kind in southern Sweden. Hike the Urskogsstigen circular trail, which translates to "Primeval Forest Trail," and get a first glimpse of the enchanted flora and fauna of the national park. The Urskogsstigen is 2.5 kilometers long and follows well-marked signs. The circular hike begins and ends at the Naturum visitor center. You walk over sandy and marshy paths, on boardwalks, surrounded by spruces and pines. Well-placed information boards along the route provide you with background information about this extraordinary landscape. The Urskogsstigen is a charming start to your vacation in Tyresta National Park.

Veberöd - Toma Hällestad

Among the numerous lakes of the region, the 14.6 km long hiking trail leads from Veberöd to Torna Hällestad. You cross some hills, cover about 350 meters in elevation, and can plan for the entire tour to take three to four hours. The landscapes are characterized by old forests and many beech trees. Along the path, you can admire some historical farms that were built several centuries ago. Some of these are still in operation. Dogs are welcome on the hike but should be kept on a leash. In general, the Swedish summer months are recommended for outdoor excursions on foot.

Tour through the Prästaskogen Nature Reserve

The area around Skrylle offers great opportunities for the whole family to engage in outdoor sports or relax in nature. Especially in spring and summer, deciduous forests, pastures, and meadows invite you to take extensive trips – preferably with a picnic basket! A nearly 3 km long circular path leads from Torna-Hällestad through open forests and green meadows and can be easily completed in three-quarters of an hour. On this route, you can observe animals grazing in nature and drinking at the many bodies of water. For bird watchers, it is worth bringing binoculars.

Hjortsprångsrundan

Enchanted forests, interspersed with steep cliffs and rocky gorges, characterize the image of this place. Discover Söderåsen National Park on one of the well-marked hikes, such as the 7.7-kilometer-long Hjortsprångsrundan. The route, rated quite high in difficulty, is worth it: the tranquility of nature is balm for the soul. Since 2001, Söderåsen has been designated as a national park, located on a ridge in the northwest of Skåne. Parts of the Hjortsprångsrundan are hiked on unpaved paths, while others are equipped with stairs to better overcome height differences. A special panorama opens up to you at the Hjortsprånget viewpoint, named after a Stone Age hunting method.

Njakajaure Hike (Part of Kungsleden)

The hike to Lake Njakajaure is a good opportunity to get to know the Scandinavian nature in Lapland. Vacationers wander through the arctic forests, admire the roaring waterfalls, and gaze deep into the Abiskojåkka Canyon. From here, it is about another hour to the intermediate destination. The hiking trail to Njakajaure initially follows the famous King's Trail Kungsleden. Along the way, you pass the Abiskojåkka Canyon. It continues along the river of the same name to the expanses of the Lapporten Valley. Through the picturesque moors and meadows, you ultimately reach the lake. The circular hiking trail is a total of 5 kilometers long and takes just under two hours.

Aurora Sky Station

The Aurora Sky Station is one of the most distinctive landmarks in Abisko National Park. You can start hiking from the tourist station and then follow the signs up into the mountains. The trail is 4 kilometers long and leads steeply upwards. Accordingly, you should plan about 2.5 hours for one direction. Upon arriving at the Aurora Sky Station, you can recharge with small Fika cakes and coffee. Other warm dishes are also offered. Meanwhile, visitors enjoy the magnificent view through the panoramic windows of the picturesque Lake Tornetrask, which perfectly integrates into the sparse taiga vegetation.

Around the Fyledalen

The valley of the Fyleån is characterized by steep, tree-covered slopes and flat, expansive meadows. Its biodiversity makes the nature reserve an important protected area in Sweden, a destination not only for amateur ornithologists. Hike the 7.2-kilometer Fyledalen loop and discover the habitat of countless plants and animals. The circular trail offers you the opportunity to explore the valley's flora and fauna all year round. Fyledalen is a popular destination for those seeking tranquility and active vacationers alike − so you may encounter other adventurers. Enjoy the fresh forest air and let your gaze wander over this typically Swedish landscape.

Skäralid - Klåverödsdammen via Söderåsen

The hiking area Klåverödsdammen delights with many different routes of varying lengths. If you want to be out all day, the path from Skäralid to Klåverödsdammen is recommended.
