Mecklenburgische Seenplatte - The most beautiful cities
Malchow
You reach the old town via a drawbridge. Cozy inns line up around the bridge. The view sweeps over to the impressive tower of the over 800-year-old monastery church with the Mecklenburg Organ Museum, the largest in Northern Germany. From the tower of the church, you enjoy a magnificent view over the city and adjacent lakes. Worth seeing is the representative town hall at the Old Market from the 19th century. Excursion boats to the neighboring lakes start from Malchow harbor. Children have fun in the historical school lesson at the Rarities Museum. Plau am See
Plau am See is an ideal holiday destination if you prefer to relax by the water. On the shores of the 39 km² body of water, you may discover rare water birds such as the bittern, crane, or osprey with a bit of luck. You have a particularly good view of the natural paradise from the Moorochse observation tower, located on the northern shore. Explore your holiday destination on two wheels and take advantage of the 55 km long circular cycle path. The 10 km route over the historic Plau drawbridge to Bad Stuer is also popular. Röbel

Mecklenburgische Seenplatte - Climate
Located in northeastern Germany, the Mecklenburg Lake District experiences the typical cold temperate German climate with all four seasons. The best time for swimming and enjoyment is therefore the summer from June to September inclusive, when temperatures usually stay above 20 degrees. The water temperature is most pleasant in July and August. However, for hikers and nature lovers, the blossoming nature in spring and the colorful foliage in autumn also offer wonderful opportunities. In winter, on the other hand, you can enjoy a great winter vacation with a snowy wonderland as well as many spa offers and Christmas markets in the region.
